Finding the right set of drugs to use to fight cancer is challenging because each dog's cancer is different.  For example, the CHOP protocol is used to treat most dogs with B-cell lymphoma even though each dog's cancer responds differently to different drugs. A new company,  ImpriMed, is now making it possible for a veterinary doctor to receive a report after a patient's tumor sample is analyzed.  With their technology, ImpriMed measures which of the different chemotherapy and other drugs are most effective at killing tumor cells. The service is currently free since it is part of their clinical trial, and the test is available for blood cancers (i.e. lymphoma and leukemia).
