You can expect to receive the boxes in 7-12 days via FedEx Ground.
No, we cannot run a drug sensitivity-only service. Please understand our AI-based drug response prediction models require flow cytometry and PARR parameters generated from our own instrumental setting. Even if the patient already has flow cytometry results from another laboratory, we need to run flow and PARR again anyway.
The media and tubes can be decontaminated in or with 10% bleach and discarded as normal.
Yes, we do run assays on blood for a leukemia patient. Please send us at least 2 mL of whole blood in an EDTA tube.
Please request fresh tubes on our website (Vet Portal > Request Supplies). If you need to send cells immediately, please use the serum and saline protocol from the CSU Hemapathology Lab. (Click to read more)
We will send you another batch of media tubes you could use. Please make the supply request on the Vet Portal > Request Supplies page.
We require at least 2mL of whole blood sample in an EDTA-treated tube.
We require at least 2 mL of whole blood in an EDTA-treated tube.
We need about 10 million cancer cells to run the full chemosensitivity panel so we ask that you conduct an aggressive woodpecker style FNA, poking as many nodes as possible and putting the cells into our proprietary media tubes (ensures we receive live cells), then of course we need a whole blood sample (2mL).
No, We will send you another batch of media tubes you could use. Please email us at support@imprimedicine.com or request fresh tubes online via our Vet Portal.
Our proprietary media tubes must be stored in the fridge (36-40° F) before use. Please DO NOT freeze the media tubes.
The media has a 3 month shelf life. You can check the tube and look for its expiration date as well.
The blood sample can be refrigerated before shipping. Please DO NOT freeze the blood sample.
Please follow these steps to prepare the box and ship the sample to our lab. (Click to read more)
Disinfect the skin with alcohol (70%) at the planned needle puncture site. Insert a 20-gauge needle (without syringe) into an enlarged lymph node and perform 15 - 20 aspirations using an aggressive “woodpecker style” technique. (Click to Read More)
If you do not have our proprietary media tubes handy at the moment, please use the serum and saline protocol from the CSU Hemapathology Lab
Please use serum and saline that you would normally do when you send to other reference laboratories.
If the patient is suspected of leukemia, blood collected in the EDTA tube should be fine. If it is lymphoma, we might need FNA from the affected organ/lymph node. We can suggest FNA in ImpriMed media tube (1) and 2ml of blood sample in an EDTA tube.
Current therapy will not affect our AI predictions or immunoprofile results. However, reduction of tumor size caused by therapy may increase the likelihood of service failure due to insufficient cells. In the event of service failure, you will not be billed.
Blood clots can prevent our ability to run our tests. Very small clots may not be a problem, but in general, clotted blood is not ideal. That is why we ask that doctors send blood in an EDTA or heparin tube.
